What is a harness rope and what is its use?

Restraint rope is a nylon and plastic rope that is used in the transportation industry, including shipping. The application of harness rope in the shipping industry is very wide. Ships are moored by mooring ropes. These ropes are used to tie and hold the ship in the dock. Also, in order to restrain and keep the boxes and packages in the ship, they use a rope.

Types of harness rope

  1. Ropes whose length is more than 2.54 cm are called ropes.
  2. Ropes whose diameter is less than 2.54 cm are called cord.
  3. Ropes that are made of thin string and have high flexibility are called dola thread.

If these ropes are made of plastic, they are known as  plastic marine rope  . Due to their applications, shipping ropes must be very strong and braided. For this, steel ropes can be used. But you should note that it is very difficult to maintain steel rope.
